Wiping Drool off the New 2015 BMW M4 Convertible
We came, we saw, we pined and drooled over the new 2015 BMW M4 Convertible... is similar to the coupe, and carries on the hardtop's athletic stance with a long wheelbase, short front overhang, aerodynamic mirrors and in the case of this showcar, optional yellow-painted brake calipers. The led headlights look like a pair of eyes determined, glaring and ready to go. Neck warmers come standard, for those days when you want to impress the world but its a little cold to be driving with the top down, and don't worry, this car is covered in "M"s so if the appearance alone doesn't give it away, everyone will still know you're driving the best of the best.
She's got the traditional rear-wheel drive, equipped with twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six producing 425 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque, mated to either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed M dual-clutch transmission. Beauty and power, unfortunately governed at 155 mph.
Not all glitters as we did notice the M4's increase in price, with a tag starting around $73,425, and the car is just as heavy as the cost, weighing in at 4055 bls, which leads, inevitably to a loss in performance, especially off the line from zero to sixty, but it still clocks in at an admirable and unshamable 4.2 - 4.4 seconds with a seven-speed dual clutch automatic. The increase in weight is due to it's hard top, but all is definitely forgiven... it is still one hell of a good looking and top performing luxury vehicle, and a force to be reckoned with. We give this car the Carponents seal of approval!
