In some surprising news at the opening day of the 2015 New York International Auto Show, Honda stole the show in a bright blaze of neon green glory when it rolled out the new 10th Generation Civic Concept. Bold designs, and a sharp, sporty appearance give this Civic the kind of feel that has been missing from the Civic of late and a styling direction to look forward too. Honda promises the new Civic will be “flat out, the most dynamic, the most technologically advanced and the most refined and stylish Civic we’ve ever made". Furthermore, the new Civic will feature a full lineup of trims for 2016 including a Sedan, Coupe, Hatchback, sporty Si version, and....wait for it...a high performance Type R model - all available in the US. You read that correctly, the Type R is finally coming to America!

While more details are yet to be announced, Honda has indicated it will make heavy use of turbochargers in this new Civic, specifically accouncing a 1.5-liter VTEC Turbo direct-injection engine mated to a either six-speed short throw gearbox or a brand new Continuously Variable Transmission. The new Civic will be available in the fall of 2015 and it looks to be one that the general public as well as aftermarket tuners will be salivating over.
