General Motors New 2015 Line-Up… of RECALLS!
General Recall, uh…we mean, General Motors is year again pushing out another blast of recalls affecting 3.36 million vehicles built between 2000 and 2014. The first recall affects the ignition switches which can be turned out of the run position due to the weight of the keyring. Instead of replacing the ignitions, GM will be drilling a small hole in the key to offset the weight, and prevent this from happening… sounds a little odd, really odd that a considering there have been eight crashes and six injuries due to the negligence, that a simple 6 millimeter hole will completely solve this issue. In the meantime, keep your keychains to the bare neccessities... a bottle opener, swiss army knife, flashlight or carabiner.
Affected models are:
2000 - 2005 Cadillac Deville
2004 - 2005 Buick Regal LS and GS
2004 - 2011 Cadillac DTS
2005 - 2009 Buick Lacrosse
2006 - 2008 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
2006 - 2011 Buick Luceme
2006 - 2014 Chevrolet Impala
Additional recalls fro General Motors include a faulty shift cable which may prevent the downshift of automatic transmissions.
Affected Models:
2013 - 2014 Cadillac ATS
2014 Cadillac CTS
Necessary power steering hose clamp inspection to make sure it is attached properly to the power steering pump. Failure will result in a loss of power brakes and steering in the vehicle.
Affected Models:
All-new heavy-duty Chevrolet Pickups
All-new heavy-duty GMC Pickups
Possible faulty gasket that could lead to unwarranted deployment of rollover airbags.
Affected models:
2001 Cadillac AWD CTS Sedans
Faulty side airbag needing to be replaced on the passenger's seat because an "unbelted child and door trim" could impede the airbag. How they discovered that an "unbelted child" in the passenger seat wouldn't allow the bag to deploy is a little unsettling… leaving us to wonder who would put a child in the passenger seat of a super sports car…
Affected Model:
Chevrolet Corvette Stingray models with Competition Seats only
184 pickups are being recalled because General Motors didn't bother to install attachments for the mats int eh vinyl floors and all-weather floor mats, leaving them at risk to slide or move under the driver's feet, blocking the pedals.
Affected Models:
2014 - 2015 GMC Sierra Pickup
2014 - 2015 Chevrolet Silverado Pickup

Find Quality Touch Up Paint

All touch up paint is not created equal! The generic paints you buy at auto part stores will likely NOT match your vehicle’s paint exactly. Believe it or not, even the OEM dealers usually stock “close enough” colors. We recommend PaintScratch.com since their high quality paint is freshly made, they custom mix each order for you upon receipt, and they offer a color match guarantee.
