What's Ford Motor Company's favorite thing to do ever? My guess would be to find a reason to manufacture yet another limited-edition Mustang. This year at the Detroit Auto Show, was no exception with the release of the 2019 Mustang Bullitt, commemorating the 50th year anniversary of Steve McQueen’s 1968 movie of the same name, featuring the legendary Highland Green Mustang GT 390 fastback.

In McQueen’s movie, Bullitt, there were two original 1968 Mustang G6 fastbacks used, one of which made a cameo next to it’s much younger baby brother. The other was sold by Warner Bros. to a private buyer in 1974, and has since then been inherited by the man’s son.

The limited-edition 2019 Mustang Bullitt has a 5.0-liter V-8 engine, promising no less than 475 hp and 420 lb-ft torque. Governed at 163 mph, it has a white cueball shifter knob, and for those of you in the three pedal club, you’ll be thrilled to know he has a manual transmission.

You get your choice of the original green, or black, because lets face it, not everybody likes green. There is no word yet on pricing or how many of them will be available.

Molly McQueen, his grand-daughter, introduced the vehicle at the show in Detroit.

Find Quality Touch Up Paint

All touch up paint is not created equal! The generic paints you buy at auto part stores will likely NOT match your vehicle’s paint exactly. Believe it or not, even the OEM dealers usually stock “close enough” colors. We recommend PaintScratch.com since their high quality paint is freshly made, they custom mix each order for you upon receipt, and they offer a color match guarantee.
