Audiences were electrified with BMW's reveal of their new plug-in hybrid i8 Coupe. This 369 horsepower, turbocharged three-cylinder gasoline engine allows purely electric low speed commutes around town.

The battery is larger and more powerful, offering drivers an astounding 18-mile, gasoline free trip to the grocery store, soccer practice, picking the kids up after school and back! Just kidding. This car is designed to do zero of those things except look really bad ass, on it's 18-mile E-trip around town. As if the purring of a kitten toned sports car wasn't sexy enough, she also comes with butterfly doors, for added cool points.

There isn't too much competition in e-cars that look this amazing, except the new Tesla roadster with it's 650 horsepower completely electric motor, and no, it won't come close to Elon's promise of 1.8 seconds (you're going to putter there at a comparingly snailish, but still respectable 4.2). But you are still going to look really fantastic driving it next spring at a cool $145,000. If you think that's a little pricey, think about all it does for the enviroment. And what the environment does for you... little things, like giving you oxygen and food.
