2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is Literally a Drag (Street Legal Drag Car That Is!)
Holy… Shhhh….Heavenly Father. The horse-power of Christ propels you. Dodge has gone beyond our wildest American Muscle dreams to create a balls-to-the-wall street legal drag car that is truly from another dimension and gives new meaning to the term “hell on wheels”. Or to be more specific, “hell on wheelies”… yea, we ruined the surprise. The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon can literally (and intentionally) pop a wheelie. A feature so high on the bad ass rating, we probably don’t have to tell you anything else about this car. We should probably end the article right here, but wait, there’s more.
News circulating the release of this car was that it was going to blow the roof off the competition in horsepower. Auto websites, news portals, automotive professionals and snot-nosed, know-it-all gear heads with Instagram accounts were all proclaiming the Challenger was gong to tip the scales at over 1000 hp. But alas! He’s only pumping 840 hp from it’s 6.2L Supercharged V8 @6300 rpm and 770 lb-ft of torque @4500 rmp… but that is still a production car record for torque! And it can run a quarter-mile 9.65-second quarter mile at 140 mph… And it more than tames the 707 hp and 650 lb-ft you’ll find in the Dodge Hell-Kitten. AND… it can do a wheelie. Did we mention that?
Dodge has build us a very remarkable and unbelievably street legal drag racer in the Challenger SRT Demon. They’ve gone to the extreme to integrate a suspension that can actually transfer the weight to the back of the car, along with a trans brake which increases your traction and allows the car to build up eight pounds of boost before launch. Seems like a lot, but because you have the traction, you can control the boost you need to have the “take-off” of a life time. Kind of like rev’ing your engine and spinning your tires. Except you have full control, and you don’t destroy your car like an ass.
The trans brake allows the car’s automatic transmission to engage both first gear and reverse at the same time, letting the driver rev the engine and charge up the Demon’s torque in a standstill at the starting line. Once the light turns green, there’s a secret button the driver pushes to drop the reverse gear and after that… there’s no holding you back from tearing up that runway. AND it’s why the car can do a wheelie!
It’s got similar architecture to the Hemi Hellcat, but it gets a bigger engine, more boost, two dual-stage fuel pumps, and an overall strengthening and lubrication to give improved performance at high speeds. It also has what is called an SRT Power Chiller which diverts air-conditioning refrigerant to a chiller mounted by a cooler pump. The coolant flows form the radiator in front to the chiller unit, then to the heated exchangers in the superchargers. As an added feature, there’s a touchscreen monitor that carefully tracks the temperatures to make sure you don’t take a second run too early and blow up your engine.
The car comes with two key fobs… one for taking you and your car through the fast and fiery depths of hell, and the other for dropping the kids off at soccer practice.
Some other insane stats… 0-60 in 2.3 seconds. 0-100 in 5.1 seconds. And the brakes can take you from 60-0 in 97ft. There’s only 3300 of these Demons circulating Earth... 3000 for the US and 300 for Canada. It has the largest functional hood scoop at 42.5 sq in. and you can take out the passenger and rear seats, if you’re looking to shed a few lbs of body weight. It also leaves out other unimportant things such as seatbelts and floormats, and thank god. We all know how heavy those things are. Finally the car also comes with an “Eco mode” which limits to “only” 500 hp and starts in 2nd gear. Boo. We can’t end with that… AND it can do a wheelie for 3 full feet! Everything you’ve always dreamed of doing in your American Muscle car since the first Fast and Furious movie came out.
Oh and btw... it also comes with this branded spare wheel box and tool kit, because, there's no way we'd actually put something like this in the acutal car, just incase we need it. It will just slow us down. We know your wife is going to love having this in your garage.

Find Quality Touch Up Paint

All touch up paint is not created equal! The generic paints you buy at auto part stores will likely NOT match your vehicle’s paint exactly. Believe it or not, even the OEM dealers usually stock “close enough” colors. We recommend PaintScratch.com since their high quality paint is freshly made, they custom mix each order for you upon receipt, and they offer a color match guarantee.
