Finally… it’s here.  The long awaited and highly anticipated SUV of luxury SUVs that billionaire soccer moms have been praying for… a vehicle so luxurious and expensive, in all it’s glory that it costs more than the average home in America.  The 2017 Bentley Bentayga.  Even the name sounds like a vacation in the  Caribbean and Bentley brags the Bentayga is the world’s fastest SUV.  You will never be late to pic the kids up ever again.  He will get you from 0-60 in 4 seconds flat with a max speed of 187 mph and a very economical 10/18 miles per gallon.  Seriously, thats really good for a twin turbo 6.0L W12!   600 ponies at 5000-6000 rpm, with 664 lb.ft torque @1350 rpm, he can also tow 7700 lbs! 

You have 90 colors to choose from.  Yes, 90, plus 15 carpet options, 7 choices of hand crafted veneers, and 17 choices of trim hide.  Hopefully no one chooses snake skin, its just super tacky for a car like this.  A leather trimmed “event seat” that comes out of the back for when you drive your Bentley to Giant’s Stadium and tailgate.  You know, typical activities one does with a Bentley.  The company is so proud of this new feature, never before offered in a Bentley, for obvious reasons, they even highlighted it on the company website.   Basically it looks like a 4 door Continental with an SUV back end.  

Features… just about everything you can imagine in a vehicle that we really don’t have to list them.  A shorter list may be had by the features it doesn’t have, like Tesla’s autonomous driving features.   The price?  MSRP starts at $231,85 with no options.  Can you image a Bentley with no options?  Almost affordable.  Guess we’re going to have to spend the extra cash for a fully loaded one at $300,125.  I’d love to know the 70 grand worth of options the base model is missing over the First Edition.  Probably just your own personal driver.  Just kidding.  He’s extra.  This car has it all: 

The Bentayga introduces Bentley Dynamic Ride - the world’s first electric active roll control technology that utilizes an unrivaled 48V system. Inherent in larger vehicles with a higher centre of gravity, this system instantly counteracts lateral rolling forces when cornering and ensures maximum tyre contact to deliver class-leading cabin stability, ride comfort and exceptional handling.

While conventional anti-roll bars present a compromise between body control and ride comfort, Bentley's adaptive and reactive system provides variable torsional resistance, allowing the Bentayga to be both dynamically capable and comfortable for all occupants at all times. The pioneering use of a 48V system results in silent, instantaneous responses and sufficient power on hand to deal with all road surfaces.

Electric Power-Assisted Steering (EPAS) is also featured on the Bentayga. The new system improves feedback to the driver, while providing isolation from steering kick-back both on- and off-road.  (As if you’d be crazy enough to take it off-road.) EPAS also features a variable rack ratio, permitting light and fast steering while driving at low speeds, as well as a more subdued response for excellent stability at high speeds.

The Bentayga offers class-leading ride comfort, steering feel and handling thanks to the partnership of a highly sophisticated chassis and Electronic Stability Control (ESC). In addition to advanced, multi-mode Traction Control (TCS), it also features Hill Descent Control (HDC).

HDC automatically regulates the vehicle's speed on steep declines, allowing the driver to concentrate fully on steering and obstacles ahead. It can be pre-set at speeds between two and 30 km/h (going in either direction) and works on gradients greater than five per cent.

The car can have 5 seats but the four-seat configuration makes the ultimate statement in design, comfort and luxury. The two individual rear seats adjust in 18 different ways and include massage and ventilation functions as well as footrests. So basically, don’t have a third child, and let your spouse drive. 

It also comes with 6 lifestyle packages to choose from including one that features a complete tailgate set with refrigerator, fine china, and crystal glasses, or one for you water sports enthusiasts with wet gear stowage options.   God we love this car.  Come on power ball winner.
