No shortage in Audi’s supercar presence at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, with their 2016 R8 in an unbelievably appealing matte grey finish.  Still recognizable, Audi has sharpened her curves and put a little work into the aerodynamics of the R8’s exterior.  The interior is updated with more of a “race car driver” feel, with new gadgets, features, controls and sports package options that make you feel like you’re on the track in Monaco.

Instead of the usual dashboard centering, the infotainment display is actually positioned behind the steering wheel.  Besides the typical GPS and car data, it also has a performance mode with g-force graph, power and torque output, and shift light indicator.

Constructed around a new aluminum and carbon fiber Audi Space Frame chassis, the 2016 Audi R8 weighs in at about 3,205 lbs, making her 110 lbs lighter than the previous model.  Under the hood is where the real upgrades take place giving you a choice of a 5.2-liter V-10 in two different forms.  The first version is a standard V-10 with 532 horsepower or you can upgrade to the plus version boosting up your horsepower by 70 ponies to 602.

On paper, Audi boasts statistics that would give the Lamborghini Huracan a run for it’s money with an additional 1 horsepower and 3 mph faster.  With a top speed of 205, the new R8 can blast off from 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds.

A new performance mode for the Audi drive select system offers pre-set traction, shift, steering and engine parameters for a wide variety of surface conditions.  Shifting tin to gear, you’ve got a 7-speed S-tronic dual-clutch gearbox with manual paddle shift mode, and three automatic modes (comfort, auto, and dynamic).  The S-tronic also offers a coasting function: when the driver lifts off the accelerator at speeds above 34 mph, the gearbox opens both clutches, allowing he car to coast without engine drag, which increases gas mileage.

The 2016 Audi R8 goes on sale this summer for $155,000 to $175,000 based on the engine output respectively.  Audi is also working on an electric version of this vehicle as well.

Find Quality Touch Up Paint

Order touch up paint on-line!

All touch up paint is not created equal! The generic paints you buy at auto part stores will likely NOT match your vehicle’s paint exactly. Believe it or not, even the OEM dealers usually stock “close enough” colors. We recommend PaintScratch.com since their high quality paint is freshly made, they custom mix each order for you upon receipt, and they offer a color match guarantee.
